AFormX has started investing into development of flight simulators in early 2015. At that time the first test examples of Oculus VR goggles became available. We had the vision and foresight to realise that for single-pilot operations or public use flight simulators every other display technology will be out-dated.
In the few years since 2015 AFormX produced a large number of projects. It is our pleasure to present them here.
|MiG 21 bis||2016-Present||Public Use|
|Pipistrel X-ALPHA | AWARDED||2017-Present||Training Use|
|Noordung VR Electra||2018-Present||Public Use|
|AFormX model R(e) racer | AWARDED||2019||Research|
|Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IX (HFS)||2021-Present||Public Use|
|Ultimate aerobatic biplane hybrid sim||Under Development||Training Use|
Even more impressive than the line-up of completed project is the fact that almost all simulators are active and our operational partners are returning customers for updates and upgrades.
VISION OF AFormX FOR VR SIMULATORS
We will capitalise on what we know from the completed projects.
We will continue to design and build the simulators with exploring of deeper rules of VR integration, with aesthetic and mechanical integrity and above all, we will attempt that the final results will show our passion for creative exploration of new fields.
At the present time our greatest leverage is the extensive experience in VR based flight simulation for public, but especially for training use. We will focus on building simulators that get used extensively.
And we look forward to all the wonderful challenges coming our way.
AWARDS FOR OUR VR SIMULATORS
Our work in the field of VR simulators was publicly recognised and awarded on several occasions. Here we present only the most important national and international awards
• national level – Golden National Innovation Award – 2017
• international level – Winners of Royal Aeronautical Society General Aviation Design challenge 2018-2019
GOLDEN NATIONAL INNOVATION AWARD
In 2017 our company had only six full time employees. And we still won the prestigious national Chamber of Commerce award for innovation for our work on the X-ALPHA series of simulators, which is the only award given on a national level for innovation. The importance of this award which was underlined by the president of Slovenia giving the opening address to the award ceremony.
This achievement was further underlined by the visit of Prime Minister of Slovenia Miro Cerar, PhD to fly the X-ALPHA at our workshop in December 2017.
ROYAL AERONAUTICAL SOCIETY LIGHT AIRCRAFT DESIGN COMPETITION (2018-2019)
We entered this very challenging international competition and ended up among the three winners. You can read more about the project in the specific AFormX model R(e) simulator page.
A great addition to our celebration in London in November 2019 was the attendance of the award ceremony by His excellency Mr. Tadej Rupel – ambassador of Republic of Slovenia to the U.K.
